A Crucible For Silver
A downloadable game
A Crucible For Silver is a simplified OSR rpg system with a grid based inventory, rules for running a mercenary company, 1d100 weird backgrounds, 1d100 weird trinkets, and 36 spells that scale with the caster's level.
Check out my blog at https://thelatestenemy.blogspot.com/ where I go into the dev of this system as well as other RPG things that interest me.
This RPG takes inspiration from numerous other systems: Mausritter, Knave, Old-School Essentials, Into the Odd, Electric Bastionland, and Troika!
Some features of the system:
It is a simplified Old School Renaissance system with three attributes and a roll under system.
Time is a pressing issue for the adventurer party with an integrated system that tracks time and resources from combat all the way up to a strategic faction turn called the Company Step where players can run their Mercenary Company and level up.
Combat is incredibly simple but still quite deep and strategic.
Inventory management is done with a a 10 by 10 grid that is filled with items like Tetris shapes. This was initially done with papercraft and worked amazingly, but now with Coronavirus my group has been developing an app to do the inventory system.
Player creation is simple and highly variable with 1d100 backgrounds, race as class, and 1d100 magical trinkets.
Finally I have created a leveling system that integrates downtime into the action economy of the system. You spend silver found on adventures, dungeon crawling, etc. on various activities and get back a percentage of that as XP.
A free optional app for using the inventory can be found here: https://skyorrichegg.itch.io/a-crucible-for-silve

A very solid book - albeit, I'd say some things still need polished - especially the Mercenary Company system.
